One of the genealogies state that the Sil Anmchadha are descended from Maine, son of Niall of the Nine Hostages. Another of Niall’s sons was Cairpre.

Sir John Tracy of Toddingham in the county of Gloucester England, was created The
Viscount and Baron Tracy of Rathcoole and Baronet of the county of Limerick, on
the 12th January 1642 by Charles the 1st. This
family were of Norman origins.
